Welcome to the AMAS site

AMAS is a national project on the research and development of non-contaminating and anti microbial aluminium surfaces. The project is funded by the Advanced Technology Foundation (HøjteknologiFonden). Our homepage will inform You on the ongoing activities.

We have in the project produced and proven effect of TiO2 deposited on a aluminium surface.

Read more here:  Titania coating deposited by industrial scale magnetron sputtering.

Colony forming bacterias (green). growth  on a nonexposed TiO2 plate for 18-19 hrs (cross sections of the plate in margins)

To challenge these results and to further discuss how to move forward within this field and to create new networks we have invited key scientists as industrial users from Europe and USA.

We invite you to come to Copenhagen 24. and 25. April and participate in this important challenge with us. See Flyer.

Introduction

The AMAS project

HiPIMS: An advanced deposition technology

What is PVD?

A titanium dioxide layer on a metal substrate in the crystal form Anatase.

The 1 micro meter thick layer has a proven antimicrobial effect when exposed to light.

 Anti Microbial Aluminium Surfaces

The colonies are drastically reduced (red)  due to  photocatalytic activity on the TiO2 surface induced by 1 hr radiation of UV light
